fact sources and writings about this individual:
Research of Roger Harris of Ontario, February 2014;
A1342 This was George Everingham's eldest daughter. Previously I had not known where she settled nor with whom. She married 7 March 1867 to James Gelsthorpe, both age 21, both residents of Aldborough twsp, Elgin County Canada West{Ont} but the marriage took place in Middlesex Co. At that time George and Eliza Jane (Anker) Everingham were living in Mosa Twsp at the settlement of Cashmere. but according to "Find-A-Grave" the stone is in Waynesville, Dewitt Co., Illinois. She and James are recorded on the 1920 census for that location. This "Evergreen Cemetery" also has other Gelsthorpe members buried there. So I wrote to the lady that took the pic and she replied that she was from this village of about 500 people and indeed she knew members of this family. Her sister happens to be the local librarian and so she is starting a hunt for us to locate interested descendants of Elizabeth.
Just had to let you know that I am not completely dead yet, nor am I finished with genealogy. (Those are probably one and the same thing!!!)
Note that the stone states that they were born in 1844, however the 1851 and 1861 census said 1846. There marriage certificate stated they were both 21 in 1867. Also Almira Elizabeth's older brother, William, was born in Feb 1844 so whoever gave the info to the stone cutter was out by 2 years on both of them.
Cemetery Headstone: (on one stone) James Gelsthorpe, Jan 13 1844 - Nov 8, 1931... Elizabeth Everingham, his wife, Feb 15, 1844 - Aug 18 1921.
