In early 2003, Jerry & Arvajean wrote; "Jerry knew your family well when they were all living in Onaway. He remembers going to Dale and Leora's to play cards. We used to go over to Crystal now and then to Dale & Leora's store (R&L Grocery) so Jerry
could work on their coolers. Jerry worked on air conditioning and refrigeration for years. We have 6 children and 15 grand children and 17 great grandchildren."

2007 OBIT - Michael K. Stoner (military photo right), 53 of Cedar Springs, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at his home. Michael was born August 26, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Jerry and Arvajean (Porter) Stoner. He was a 1971 graduate of Cedar Springs High School were he enjoyed playing all sports. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973. He was a carpenter and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are 3 daughters, Heather & Ryan Miller, Rachel Stoner, Michelle Stoner all of Grand Rapids; his parents, Jerry & Arvajean Stoner of Pierson; brothers, Jeffrey & Jody Stoner, Kevin & Nicole Stoner; sisters, Karen & James Magoon, Gerri & Doug Morell, Gale Magoon; girlfriend, Lila Robinson; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Miranda. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 Noon until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Verta Giddings officiating. Military honors conducted by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Private interment Solon Township Cemetery.
2008 Obituary:
Jerry H. Stoner, 77 of Pierson, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at his home. Jerry was born March 21, 1931 in Onaway, MI the son of Kenneth and Neva (Lefler) Stoner. He had worked for the Kent County Sheriff’s Department for 21 years retiring in 1993. He enjoyed farming and years ago had driven school bus, was a volunteer fireman and had coached little league. Surviving are his wife, Arvajean (Porter); 5 children, Karen Stoner of Reed City, Gerri Lee & Doug Morell of Gagetown, Gale Magoon & Julian Balderrama of Sand Lake, Jeffrey & Jody Stoner of Newaygo, Kevin & Nicole Stoner of Reed City; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael in 2007; a granddaughter, Miranda; brother, Elmer Stoner; sister, Barbara Martin. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Verta Giddings officiating. Interment Solon Township Cemetery.
