Mildred taught school (mostly 2nd grade) for 25 years. She taught at Tower, Onaway, & N. Allis, She also got a teaching degree from Central Michigan University.

Obituary Aug. 24, 1914 - Jan. 29, 2010
Mildred L. Everingham, age 95, lifelong resident of Onaway, died on January 29, 2010 at Hospice House in Cheboygan. Mildred was born in Onaway on August 24, 1914 to Earl and Jessie (Clark) McAtee.
On May 22, 1937 Mildred was married in Rogers City to Percy C. Everingham. They were married for 66 years at the time of his death in 2002. Mrs. Everingham taught school for many years in Onaway and Tower. She also worked as the principal of Tower School. Mildred worked on the farm and was a homemaker. Despite all the work she had to
do, she somehow found time for her hobbies - quilting, sewing, gardening, and reading. Her greatest enjoyment was fishing. She was an avid fisherwoman and could out fish most men. Mildred was a long time member of the Onaway United Methodist Church, The Smiling Circle Club, and the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Faye (David) Gee and Pat Vermilya, both of Onaway; sons, Ken (Sandy) of Afton, Larry (Yvonne) of Cheboygan,and Don (Ronda) Everingham of Indian River; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and newphews. Preceding Mildred in death are her husband, Percy on March 5, 2002; grandson, Ronnie Everingham; brother, Elwayne "Bud" McAtee; and sisters, Ruth
Nelson and Donna Skinner.
