1860 CENSUS Dansville, Steuben County, New York (Page 46, Family #347) ... Warren Evingham, 30, b.NY,.. Mary Evingham, 34, b.PA.,... Frances Evingham, 9, b.NY.
1863 Western New Yorker Newspaper, July 16, 1863,... "List of wounded in the 104th NYV at the Battle of Gettysburg, PA... Co. D.. Corp. Warren Everingham."
Index of service records of volunteer soldiers who served from the State of New York... Warren Everingham rank in; Private, rank out; Sergeant, Union soldier, state of origin; New York, unit; Company D, 104th Regiment, New York Infantry. Enlisted (age 31) Dec 30, 1861 at Genesee, NY. I don't find him in any census data in 1870 or 1880, however he is listed as "C. Warren Evingham" in pension records, He had a rank of sergeant when discharged and there is a pension record probably filed on behalf of his widow. Civil War Pension records; C. Warren Evingham, sgt. Co.D, 104th NY INfantry. this also makes me wonder if "C. Warren" and "Charles W." are the same person?
From Steuben county NY Civil War veterans info ... it shows Warren Evingham enlisted June 15, 1862 at Wayland, into 104th Infantry Co.D... also noted "POW" prisoner of war, died at Salisbury Prison, North Carolina. Promoted to Corporal, Jul 15,1862. Promoted to Sergeant, Jul 1,1864.
