1910 New York Tribune, Nov 26, 1910, (Page 13).. "Hackensack, N.J., Nov 25, Mrs. Marion Everingham, wife of Lorenzo J. Everingham, will contest the will of her mother, Mrs. Addie B. Howard, of Coytesville, N.J., which bequeaths an estate valued at $12,000 to Everingham. After giving to her son-in-law her property absolutely Mrs. Howard says; I make this bequest to make a partial amend for the wrong done him by my daughter, Marion Everingham, his wife, who not only robbed him of his house and home, but disgraced him, herself and me. Everingham is a seafaring man. Upon his return from an extended voyage he found his home at Coytesville closed up and all his furniture gone. Mrs. Everingham and his nineteen-year-old nephew disappeared together and are said to be living in Brooklyn. The contest will be started before Judge Milton Demarest at Hackensack on Wednesday. Ex-Prosecutor P.W. Stagg is counsel for Mrs. Everingham. John S. Mackay represents Everingham, who is sole executor under the will."
