1930 US CENSUS Grand Rapids, Kent, MI (Sheet 1A).. "Joe Johnson 38, b.MI, widowed. (married at age 20), occ; Elevator Installer,.. Kenneth Johnson, 19, son, b.MI, occ; Bookkeeper." Is this Carroll Kenneth? There are a few Kenneth Johnson's in Kent County at this time so I am unsure of which one fits. The wife of this Joseph Johnson was struck and killed by a car in 1927. This may fit with the 1930 census but I still don't know if it's the right family.

1939 Grand Rapids Press, Sat, 8th April 1939.. "Carroll K. Johnsen 28, Grand Rapids; Clara E. May 18, Big Rapids. Marriage License."

1940 US CENSUS Ward 2, Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids, Kent, MI (EnDist 86-79, Sheet 13A, family #283, April 15, 1940) .... Carroll Johnson 29, b.MI, residence in 1935; Big Rapids, MI,.. Clara Johnson 19, wife,... Barbara Johnson, 5/12, daughter. Barbara is 5/12 months old, so since this census was taken in April of 1940, Barbara was born about November or December of 1939.

1972 The Grand Rapids Press, July 1, 1972,.. "Married Saturday were Miss Barbara L. Coykendall and Pat L. Lawton. The bride's parents are Carroll K. and Clara Johnsen. Groom is the son of Mr. and Ms. Harry A. Lawton."
