fact sources and writings about this individual: Research of Kevin Everingham of MI, 2006 & 2022;
This whole family (Joseph, Mary and 2 daughters) died at young ages.
from other researchers information (not my research); William Richardson Thurston was the son Peleg Thurston (1700-1770) and Amy Richardson (1730-1791) This is the most agreed upon "but this is in dispute, his parents have been identified by others as; Peleg Thurston and Sarah Borden"... William had a brother John & a sister Elizabeth and was a grandson of Thomas Thurston (1671-1730) and Mehitable Tripp (1675-1738). This info says that Thomas & Mehitable married June 23, 1695 in Freetown, Bristol, MASS, and may have had as many as a dozen children.
1849 Queens county New York marriage record.. "Joseph D. Thurston, male, married Mary Warton, female April 10, 1849 at Flushing, Queens, New York."
1859 New York Times, March 31, 1859 .. "Country house to let, furnished. The country seat of Joseph D. Thurston at Bayside, near Flushing, including lawn, finely shaded with ice-house, carriage house, etc. The house is large, contains 12 or more rooms, stands on high ground commanding fine views of Little-Neck Bay and surrounding country."
1860 US Passport application #102.. "Joseph D. Thurston, age 37, date Dec 26, 1860. 5 feet 11 inches, grey eyes, full chin, brown hair, light complexion, long face., native of New York."
1861 Philadelphia City, Pennsylvania death certificates.. "Joseph D. Thurston, 38, died June 5, 1861 at Philadelphia, PA, widowed, son of: William R. Thurston & Abigail E. Thurston." see Abigail's oldest brother's name and her mother's maiden name. Joseph D. Everighim also named a son "William R. Thurston Everinghim". there are also multiple records of a William R. Thurston Jr. in Queens, NY.
