research of Kevin Everingham of MI 2006- updated 2021
James was from Upper Freehold, Monmouth, NJ and married Sarah Drake in 1762. The only proof of where James was from comes from notations in the marriage records (as far as I know).
No proof that these below were the same James.
- A James Everingham was in jail in 1770 due to unpaid debt in Monmouth NJ.
- In the U.S. Revolutionary War Roll of Continental troops Capt. Hawkins Boone's company in the Rifle Regiment for the month of August - Sept & Oct 1777 lists; James Everingham with the note "Deserted Aug. 19, 1777.
- A James Everingham served as a private and was listed in a company roll of Captain Thomas Butler's Third Pennsylvania Regiment, Sept 10, 1778.
according to the research info of Howard Hickman, he lists daughters of James and Sarah as; Rachel, b.~1775, d.1835, and Elizabeth, b.~1780, d.~1850.
