Ohio County (see 1848 Marriage & 1850 Census below) was formed in January 1844 from Dearborn County, Indiana.. Eli Harrison was said to have been born in Ohio County which he probably was in the same area, but in 1833 it was called "Dearborn County". There were 10 Harrison's in Dearborn County in 1840 AND there was a Chloe Harrison (age 40-50) with a family of 4 children living in Dearborn County, Indiana in 1840. In 1830, there were only 3 Harrison's living there; John Harrison at Langley, J.F. Harrison at Randolph, & William Harrison at Randolph. Could one of those 3 men be Chole's husband?

The Military History of Dearborn and Ohio counties Indiana lists: "Co. C. 83rd Indiana Volunteer Infantry officers... Second Lieut. Eli Harrison, of Rising Sun. (see 1850 census/location match)"
additionally, Indiana Civil War records document "Rebel Garrison Flag" fifteen by twenty feet, blue field, eleven white stars, three stripes, flag was captured at Vicksburg, MISS on the 4th of July 1863 by Eli Harrison and David Thorn, of the 83rd Indiana Regiment. (see 1887 newspaper match)
