1877 Fountain, Indiana Marriage Record (Pg.522)... "Clarence Harrison & Sophia Weber married November 8, 1877 at Fountain, Indiana married by Isaac Jackson Sloan... License issued Nov. 7 1877." This is the correct Clarence Harrison as proven by his death certificate, and the 1880 US Census.

(???the same Clarence???)
A "Clarence" Harrison was in the 44th Indiana Volunteer Infantry
1900 CENSUS Clarence R. Harrison, at Hdqtrs Staff & Band 44th Infantry, Philippines, Armed Forces, stationed at foreign countries., b.Sept 1866 IN, parents b.IN., widowed, married 8years.
This information seems to fit well except for the birth date being about 10 - 11 years off (it could be a bad transcription of 1855)... I am starting to think that this is the correct Clarence because I can't find him anywhere else in the 1900 census. (Speculation) It is possible that a first wife "Sophia" died while Clarence was in the Military... Is it possible that she died giving birth?... Is it possible that she died in 1899 giving birth to Cloid?... Is it possible that Clarence had to later adopt Cloid after he was out of the military and married to May? --- Also of note; Edgar and Ruth were living with their grandparents in the 1900 Census of Vermillion, Indiana.
1880 CENSUS Troy, Fountain, Indiana... Ely Harrison 47,.. Margret 50,.. Clarence 29, b.IN, son, married, occ: coalminer.. Sophia 26, dau-in-law,.. Edgar 3, grandson.
