Proof & Speculation on the marriage of Alex L. Everingham & Jane Dey Everingham updated information from Kevin Everingham of MI, 2013
1909 Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury, Middlesex, NJ... Alexander L. Everingham, b.24 Aug 1836, died Feb 12, 1909. .... Also in this cemetery is a stone that is inscribed; "Jane Dey, wife of A.L. Everingham" ... Jane is born 1838, died 8 Sept 1892... This could certainly mean her maiden name was "DEY", and does appear that it is by the headstone, but coupled with the family Bible info, this is a match for Jane Dey Evernham (b.1838) who's parents & sibling are also buried here. Both families are from Cranbury, Middlesex, NJ. New Jersey Civil War gravesite (website) lists him as "Sgt. Alexander Everingham". Co.H, 14th NJV. Clayton Everingham's Family Bible... This is Jane D. Evernham's father's family Bible under marriages, it it written; "Mr. Alex L. Evernham and Jane D. Evernham was married June 10, 1858." This entry clearly shows they had the same last name, unlike other marriage entries in this Bible. It further gives circumstantial evidence that lists Jane D. Everingham died 5 Sept 1892... (3 days off from cemetery info). Bible Transcribed by Susan Danser, 2004.
