Research of Kevin Everingham of MI, 2013
Possible connection to Benjamin Everham of Camillus, Onondaga, New York... this is only due to location similarities, no proof has been found yet to make this link. - also similarities to John Everingham of Onondaga who also had ties to Cazenovia.
1848 Onondaga, New York land Mortgages.. "Mortgagee; William Everham, Mortgagor; S. Mach.. Book 57, Page 19, Location;Van Buren, Lot 17."
1848 Onondaga, New York land Mortgages.. "Mortgagee; William Everham, Mortgagor; J. Gridley, Book 94, Page 363, Location; Van Buren, Lot 17." listed with a Benjamin Everham owning the same lot. (almost surely a relative) Benjamin's wife (probable mother of William) lived in Van Buren, Onondaga, NY according to the 1840 census. It appears he Mortagaged land in Onondaga in 1848 and moved to Niagara County, New York.
1850 CENSUS Somerset, Niagara, NY (family #271)... William R. Everham 25, b.NY,.. Jane Everham 27, b.NY,.. Byron A. Everham 8, b.NY. Williams middle initial is "R" or "N".
1852 Mortgages in Niagara County, NY.. "1852 William Everham to R. Hart, book 55, page 316, Lot 1, Section 2, township 16, Range 5, 72 acres"
1855 STATE CENSUS Royalton, Niagara, New York (family #22).. William Everham 40, b.Madison County,.. Jane Everham 32, wife, b.Onondaga County,.. Byron A. Everham 12, son, b.Onondaga.
1860 CENSUS Royalton, Niagara, NY (Page 1)... William Everham 45,.. Jane Everham 38,.. Byron Everham 17. very hard to read this faded census
1864 Mortgages in Niagara County, NY.. "1864 William and Jane Everham Mortgagee, to Thomas W. Hill - book 99, page 416, Lot 3, Section 7, township 14, range 5, 100 acres." this is on the same page as the following mortgages; Heirs of Adoram Everingham to Augustus Porter 1822. Augustus Porter is listed as an early settler along with Adoram of Niagara, NY - In 1838 Joseph Everingham mortgaged land to Denniston and Skinner. - - - another record; Hepzibah Everingham to A. Osborn "her relative since that was her maiden name."
1865 Mortgages in Niagara County, NY .. "1865, Albert Toby, Mortgagee, to William Everham, book 95, Page 30, Lot 1, Section 3, township 15, range 5."
1865 STATE CENSUS Hartland, Niagara, NY (house #136).. "Wm Everham 50, b.Madison,.. Jane Everham 43, wife, b.Onondaga,.. Byron A. Everham 22, son, b.Onondaga."
1869 Hartland, Niagara New York Gazatteer & Business Directory.. "Wm. R. Everham, (Jeddo, Orleans Co.) R.5,T15 S3, Lot 1, farmer 50"
1870 CENSUS Hartland, Niagara, New York (Pg.611, Aug 5, 1870) .. William Everham 54, b.NY, farmer,.. Jane Everham 48, b.NY,.. Byron Everham 28, b.NY, farm labor,.. Sarah Everham 20, b.NY,.. William S. Everham 3, b.NY. even though this census does not specify relationship... I believe Byron's wife and son are living with his parents in this census. Cemetery Records at Orthodox Friends Cemetery, Johnson Creek, Niagara, NY, have Byron Everham (1844-1879) & Sarah (1851-1881) "his wife" listed on the same stone.
1871 West Ridgeway Cemetery, Medina, Orleans County, NY... Jane Everham, "wife of William", age 48, d.23 Feb 1871 .. no proof this is the absolute correct Jane, but I believe it is.
1875 STATE CENSUS Hartland, Niagara, NY (Page 65, fam #643)... Charles Baker 46,.. Electa Baker 41,.. Flora Baker 9,.. Wm. Everham 50, widowed, hired -farm laborer,.. Mariam Smith 21, boarder. 4 years after Jane died he is working for and living with the Baker family. His age is very underestimated, however I do believe this is the correct William.
1880 CENSUS Hartland, Niagara, NY (Page 47A)... William Everham 64, b.NY, laborer,.. Angeline Everham 33, wife, b.NY, father b.MASS. This Census makes it look like William re-married by 1880. I have found no marriage record to help prove this.
1891 it is very possible that William was dead by 1891.. a Mrs. Angeline Everham marries according to the Weekly Gleaner Journal, May 14, 1891 .. "At New Woodstock, N.Y., may 9, 1891, by Rev. Frank Irving Roscoe, Mr. Arastus Marvin of Georgetown and Mrs. Angeline Everham of Cazenovia."
1903 "Mrs. Erastus Marvin went to Casenovia Friday for a few days' visit with an old friend from Dakota."
