This INDENTURE made the fourth day of February in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty at the Grand River in the County of Haldimand in the District of Niagara in the Province of Upper Canada, between John Burnham of the aforesaid Yeoman, Lyman Burnham of the same place and Catharine Burnham wife of the said Lyman Burnham of the first part, and Hiram Lymburner of the Township of Caistor in the County of Lincoln in the District of Niagara aforesaid Yeoman of the second part, witnesseth that their the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of thirty seven pounds, ten shillings Lawful money of the Province aforesaid to them in hand paid by him the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and also for the further consideration of the yearly (--) herein after mentioned and agreed to by the said parties to be paid observed and performed by the said party of the secon part, hath granted, dimised, (--------) to farm (--), unto the said party of the second part and by these presents doth grant, demises, lease (--) to farm (--) unto him the said party of the second part, his heirs, executors, administrators and (--) all and singular that certain parcel of tract of land located in the County of Haldimand aforesaid, and being a certain part of a larger tract of Land portioned off and granted, demised and Leased unto them the aforesaid parties of the first part by the Principal Chiefs of the Six Nations of Indians, residing and owning the lands on the said Grand River or (--) in the County of Haldimand aforesaid and in consideration of their marriages and being descendants by their Mothers, and actually belonging to the aforesaid Six Nations of Indians to which aforesaid dimised Lease from the said Chiefs are for the full end term of nine hundred and ninety nine years from the date of said Grant and next ensuing the same, and it being a certain part of the said lands lying and fronting on the north side of the bank of waters of said Grand River or (--) and particularly known and riverbeds and bounded as follows, that is to day, commencing at a stone planted (--) at the southwest angle of the lands (--) by said parties of said first part to Christopher Lymburner on north bank of said river thence north ten (--) east eighty one chains more or less to the southern boundry of Benjamin Canbys tract thence north eighty two degrees west seven chains and eighty links thence south sixty five degrees west five chains seventy five links, thence south ten degrees west eighty three (--) fifty links more or less to said Grand River thence easterly along the waters edge of said river, downsteam the several courses and (--) thereof the the place of beginning, continuing by a (--) one hundred across be the same more or less, to have and to hold the said granted and dimised promises with the appurtances unto the said Hiram Lymburner of the second part, his heirs, executors and administrators and (--) for and during the whole of the remainder and (--) of the (--) term of the aforesaid lease, as given by the aforesaid Principal Chiefs of the Six Nations Indians for the full term of one hundred and ninety nine years from (--) and date thereof fully to be (--) yeilding and paying therefore yearly and every year of the same shall be lawfully demanded during the continued of this lease unto the said parties of the first part their heirs and (--) the yearly (-----------) corn, and it is further a price that the aforesaid party of the second part his heirs and (--) paying the (--) aforesaid of one pepper corn (??) unto them the said parties of the first part their heirs or (__) that the said party of the second part shall and may (--) and quietly have, hold, occupy and enjoy the (--) hereby dimised promises during the whole of the (--) and remainder of the said (--) term of the aforesaid lease of nine hundred and ninety nine years fully to be completed without any hindrance distrubance or molestation whatsoever of them the said parties of the first part their heirs and (--) or any other person or persons having a lawfully claiming any (--) in the premises. In witness whereof the parties to their presents have hereunto interchangably set their hands and seals the day and year above written
