OBITUARY of Jane Everingham Smith (1944-2022) from 2022 obituary Jane Viola (Everingham) Smith, 78 years young, entered the gates of Heaven October 19, 2022. Jane was born to the late Clifford and Theal (Neigh) Everingham of Carson City, MI on June 17, 1944 in Charlotte, MI. Jane was a 1962 graduate of Carson City High School (where she hated swim class). Jane is survived by two younger brothers, Raymond (Bonnie) Everingham and Christopher Everingham. She is survived by her four children, Paula Bailey, Thomas Bailey, Brenda (Bailey) and Brian Malokofsky, and Trent (Crystal) Creighton; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and three dear friends, Ann Ebenstein of Ionia, Linda Sandborn of Portland, and Jan Rohn of Sheridan. Jane was welcomed into her eternal life by both parents; one grandbaby; two great-grandbabies; her soulmate, Roger William Smith of Sparta, who was her whole life for 6 very short years. Family, friends, and all others whose lives have been touched by Jane are invited to the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia to remember, grieve and just chat.
The Funeral Service honoring Jane will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Lehman Funeral Home. There will be a committal service where Jane's earthly body will be laid to rest in Courtland Cemetery, Rockford, MI.
