EVERINGHAM Oldest child of Warren and Mary A. Hunt. When a child she, with her parents, moved to Wagner, Clayton County, Iowa and it was there she received her early education. Later she attended a private boarding school for girls at Janesville, Wisconsin where she prepared for the teaching profession which she followed for some years. In 1863 the family moved to New Oregon, Howard County, Iowa where her father engaged in the merchantile business with M. M. Moon. On January 1, 1873 she became the wife of Barsnette D. Everingham and mothered his five children by a former marriage. She also became the mother of seven children, of whom with the former five mourn the loss of a devoted and self sacrificing mother's love and care.
