"The Most Beautiful Land of All"

  1. In an old-fashioned bar-room stood four lumberjack's one day,
They were getting pretty full of beer, When an argument got under-way.
Now one of them was Irish with fiery red hair,
Says he, "There's no other land with Ireland can compare!"

  2. The second was Canadian-French and with his glass half drank,
He slammed it down upon the bar and said, What do you think?
For a man to compare old Ireland to my Country and home,
Why to even think of such a thing, it makes my blood just burn.
Now don't you ever say again that Ireland is the best,
For along beside of Canada, She couldn't begin to stand the test!

  3. Hold your tongues and listen here, the third man then cut in,
If you think you can slander Sweeden, you had better think again.
For Sweeden is the Country that would always take the prize,
    If there's a heaven-upon-earth, in Sweeden's where it lies.

  4. The fourth man listened all this while you could hear his teeth just grate.
He said "Say are you fellows drunk? How about the United States?"
I don't want to cause no trouble,
but there is no other Country in the world,
That with the good old United States could even a candle hold.

  5. The bartender's pretty daughter had been listening all the while,
She then stepped up behind the bar and flashed at them a smile.
She said "Now - boys you haven't any argument at all.."
Then pointing her finger at the sky, she said
"Up there's the most beautiful land of all!"

And as she turned around to leave they stood there with bowed heads.
For each one knew in his own mind that it was true what girl had said.
