2Information from Connie Baker, 2001; "Joseph's widow Elizabeth C. Everingham petitioned the Crawford Co. Circuit Court on October 29, 1839 to sell the estate on behalf of herself and as guardian of Ellen Everingham, an infant and only heir at law of Joseph Everingham. (Crawford Co. Circuit Court Records, Book C.) Elizabeth's brother, Osmond McGahey assumed guardianship of Ellen Everingham June 16, 1843 when Elizabeth remarried, to Thomas Gill June 14, 1843. Elizabeth's brother, Allen McGahey assumed guardianship of Ellen Everingham July 3, 1849."
